Bio:
Born at Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO; Kelly Donahey spent her childhood in Kansas, Oklahoma and Illinois before moving on to New York, Missouri and California. Her interests as varied as her moves Donahey has studied acting, french, medieval history, and middle eastern studies. Through all of this art has been a driving force in her pursuits and a constant expression of topics that scholarly endeavors alone cannot accurately describe. A photography major at San Francisco Art Institute Donahey’s work extends beyond traditional photographic processes to include drawing, printmaking, video and sculpture. By creating images and objects that utilize keen observation and commentary, drawing upon critical study and often relying on humor; Donahey informs the mundane.
